About Maja Baraskiewicz
With over 25 years of professional experience in the UK and overseas, I bring a broad and deeply informed perspective to movement, health, and physical rehabilitation. My expertise is rooted in Pilates (YMCA award 2009) and complemented by certifications as an Exercise to Music Instructor (1998), Personal Trainer and Advanced Fitness Instructor (2008), Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist (BACPR certified in 2019), and Registered Yoga Teacher (2025). I regularly update my knowledge through ongoing professional development and have completed numerous additional courses over the years to support and expand my teaching practice. This diverse training and extensive experience enable me to design personalised programs tailored to the unique needs, goals, and physical conditions of each client. My approach is practical, flexible, and always grounded in sound knowledge.
While the focus is always on good technique, my classes are enjoyable, welcoming, and full of positive energy. Many people have been coming for years — not just for the exercise, but for the sense of community. There is also just the right level of challenge to bring a sense of achievement and leave you feeling motivated.
A significant part of my work involves supporting clients through post-injury and post-operative recovery, particularly following ankle injuries and hip or knee replacement surgery, where a structured strengthening program before the operation is just as important as a safe and progressive exercise regime afterward.
Being a salsa dancer myself and having two children who are professionally trained ballet dancers, I work with dancers and professional athletes, helping them develop stability, refine technique, and prepare for auditions and competitions. I occasionally teach as a guest instructor at ballet schools and dance congresses, working with both amateur and professional dancers.
I have also been invited to give talks at various community groups, including WI meetings, where I share insights on the importance of movement, good posture, and overall wellbeing. These sessions combine practical tips with engaging discussion, helping people understand how to improve their health in everyday life.
My work is not just my profession but my true passion and hobby. I am committed to constantly learning, growing, and improving my skills to provide the best possible support and guidance for every client I work with.
